(原文) Ryoenji Temple : Ryoenji Temple is believed to be established more than 400 years ago. The temple belongs to Hekkekyo sect of Buddhism. The location of the temple is in the middle of a shopping street just about 100 meters from the south exit of Ayabe Station. Despite its low profile in public the temple holds quite impressive structure as well as preserved treasure. In early July there is a festival along the ritual held in this temple. In this festival home-grown tea from Ayabe is served in ceremonial style along with wagashi ( traditional Japanese confectionary ). Seats covered with reg carpet are arranged in the yard space. Young plants of morning glory are handed out to visitors. It is such a fun activity provided by the temple is a prize winning game by rolling out balls. They decide on winners by the color of the ball you roll out. The festivity is held with cooporation of locals in Ayabe City.
